A Tub Full Of Coffee, Please.
Making me smile and lifting me up,
not caring if I wear makeup or not,
you’re there for me, no need to say a word,
and your voice is the sweetest I’ve ever heard.
Well, technically it’s not a voice but a smell
that calls to me and pulls me out of hell,
when I stumble out of bed, just after sunrise,
involuntarily wearing my panda disguise.
You’re the constant that never lets me down
(and although this might make some guys frown),
I’ll shout it from the rooftops because it’s totally true:
Coffee, I’m madly in love with you.
I wrote this in October 2016 when I was feeling very very tired because of Inktober. I was doing my best to keep up with finishing and posting one ink drawing every single day for a whole month and I totally loved it – don’t get me wrong – I just didn’t get a lot of sleep. So one morning, while making coffee, my sleepy brain came up with this love poem and I decided to illustrate it. Basically it’s a self-portrait.
